This RoadsterSport Single Street MX-5 Miata muffler weighs in at just 10 pounds which is incredible considering the stock muffler weighs a porky 26 pounds! Made completely from polished stainless steel, the 3 section baffles of this muffler has a lifetime warranty. Uses stock hangars and includes mounting gasket and all hardware needed for installation.

This Mazda MX-5 Miata Exhaust was designed for both RACING and STREET. The original RoadsterSport "RACE" is an amazing 7 pounds and designed for the autocross and track MX-5 Miata drivers who need to meet sound limits in the low 90 DB range with absolute minimal weight. Our 7 pound Race has also been a big seller with our younger MX-5 Miata owners seeking to make a statement and have some fun with their street use. However, many asked us to make another single more focused for the street users ... a fun single that is more subtle than our 7 pound Race wonder ... but almost as light. That turned into a tough challenge and after many prototypes you see the production version here. Why a single for street users? Let's face facts, dual exhausts on a straight four cylinder Miata is a ridiculous waste of weight for the serious sports car enthusiast (Mazda talks about gram strategy in the development of this MX-5 Miata but they wasted a lot of weight on duals that provide no performance benefit over singles YET lots of extra weight).

Just 10 pounds means this MX-5 miata muffler is about 16 pounds less than the stock Mazda MX-5 miata muffler! How do we do it? For this design we started with our 7 pound Race and added more diameter filled with sound suppression materials and we separated the sound suppression chamber into THREE internally baffled chambers for sound wave attenuation in what is still a highflow design. By using a higher than normal perforation rate on the super high density core, WITH three internally baffled sections, we get absolutely minimal weight and sound for a 10 pound single. This 10 pound Miata exhaust compares with 19 pounds for our RoadsterSport Miata Duals and over 26 pounds for the factory exhaust. Does NOT include baffle insert like the RoadsterSport Miata Duals, but we offer separate special optional baffle insert.

APPLICATION NOTES:
Rather mild when cruising, delivering a classic sports car bark when you stick your foot in it...tons of fun, better performance, and much lower weight. Nonetheless, even this big STREET single is not for the faint of heart. The most common question we get on this one is: "will it be too loud" and we cannot answer that one for you because the "right" sound level is a matter of entirely subjective personal preference. However, if our RoadsterSport Q is 10 to 15% more sound than stock (depending on use of removable baffles), and our RoadsterSport II is 15 to 25% more sound than stock, this STREET SINGLE is 30 to 45% more sound than stock (substantially less than our RACE Single which is a full 50 to 55% more sound than stock). This STREET SINGLE is also a great Racing choice for those running beyond stock class with performance headers or superchargers and needing more sound suppression in a single than our 7 pound Race (this is what we now run on our supercharged 05 inch header and midpipe we could not get above 85db at an SCCA autocross event...even without optional baffle). Yes, this takes the same OPTIONAL race baffle as our RACE single (item GWR-60-1325).
